He’s Just Not That Into to You: What Happened to the Marriage Chord?

angry couple

Marriages fail because of pure selfishness and stubbornness. If a person is not willing to forgive you pray for them with the love of God and a pure heart. It’s easy to see your mate’s faults but it’s hard as hell to accept that you have deficiencies, too.
The courts are flooded with the business of executing divorces. The day you vowed to accept, love, respect, cherish, provide and forsake others was not a game. You made a covenant with God and your spouse. The question is, did you really want to follow God’s instruction concerning marriage? Marriage is not about going through the motions; it needs to be taken seriously.
Love is free and accepting but devotion is loyalty and commitment. Marriage takes two committed people to make a decision to work things out no matter what! Don’t allow your hatred to cause you to destroy your covenant . Take inventory of your life and your own truths.
So many people destroy the gift that God has given them. When your spouse is sick and tired of the petty nonsense, lack of caring and commitment, they have reached a breaking point. There is absolutely no turning back. When it’s over; it is over. It’s not always about being right, holding grudges, or having a “I don’t give a damn” spirit. What you don’t cherish someone is waiting in the wings to scoop up what you have discarded: your spouse. I promise you once you come to your senses, you will realize the pain and lack of love you inflicted on your gift from God. God WILL bring it to your remembrance.
What really matters to you?
My prayer today is that couples who have reached the brink of falling out of love will take heed and recognize that your marriage is worth saving.

Love Never Fails!

heart

A person can tell you everyday how much they love you. If their actions don’t match their words then you know how they really feel about you. In a relationship, you will hit some “bumps in the road.” However, a God-centered relationship will flourish. It is never harsh, hurtful, or degrading. When you love someone, you don’t want their heart broken. You will do everything humanly possible to resolve the problem. The Word of God teaches us what genuine love is:
1 Corinthians 13:4-13 (my favorite scripture)
Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or rude.
Love isn’t selfish or quick tempered. It doesn’t keep a record
of wrongs that others do. Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil.
Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting.
LOVE NEVER FAILS!!!

I AM A WOMAN…

Happy Mother's Day to Brandi from Mama (Gigi)My life’s journey has been described as a series of peaks and valleys. I’ve learned and experienced acceptance, forgiveness, peace, pain, endurance, healing, God’s love, patience, compassion, brokeness, survival, depression, and the lists goes on… I feel for others that have walked in my shoes. I understand doubt, rejection and confusion. I’ve overcome sadness, loneliness, self-hatred and self-pity.

Now, I am a woman with a heart to love, to give my life serving others and appreciating the simple things in life. I wake up every morning with thanksgiving in my heart because I am growing in grace and wisdom everyday. I challenge myself to be a better human being and to live a life that is pleasing to God. I cherish my beautiful, intelligent, loving and compassionate children:Brian and Brandi. I breathe because of them. I learn from them and I see a reflection of myself in their eyes. They are my greatest gift.

I don’t know what tomorrow will bring but I want to leave a legacy of hope and determination to all women. Love and embrace yourself. Be kind to yourself. See beauty in all things and bring another sister closer to God. Treat one another with kindness and be a beacon of light when a sister is in darkness. Yes, I believe we are tied together…helping one sister at a time. Embrace today because tomorrow is not promised.
From the heart,
Gwendolyn

What A Man? What A Mighty Good Man!!!!

Laughing black coupleIf a man loves you he is faithful! He cares about your wants and needs. He’s true to his word. He is a protector, provider, prayer partner, peacemaker and patient. A good man accepts you and your children and will love them as his own. He takes his family to church and he stands on his principles. He dries your tears when you are crying, holds your hand and assures you that he’s got your back! Do you know that man? If not, these are the characteristics you should look for in a good man.

Lessons in Life: Forgiveness

Asking For Forgiveness

I am a firm believer in forgiveness. During your lifetime, you will experience hurt, disappointment and heartache. The key to dealing with these emotions is putting the negative events in your life in perspective. Your experiences are teachable moments. You learn who you are, what you want in life and you gain wisdom. Everything that you’ve had to face did not happen by chance. Either it was a lesson for you or the other person. God uses us as His vessels. So, forgive the person that hurt you. Come to grips with your past and allow yourself to move on. Say to yourself, “today I choose to forgive. The person that hurt me no longer has power over me. I am set free because I choose to forgive.” Forgiveness=Freedom

GET YOUR GROOVE BACK LADIES

black white friendshipGet Your Groove Back- Ladies, we are the most beautiful creatures on the face of this earth. We were conceived from Adam’s rib because God did not want Adam (man) to be alone. So, do you realize how much power we have been given to be women, mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, mothers, entrepreneurs , businesswomen, etc. Let our lights shine as the beauty of the rising sun. We are held in high esteem but we must take our roles seriously. It is an honor to be created for the purpose of being a mate to a wonderful man, provider, friend, lover, confidant and husband. Rise to the occasion. Be proud of being a WOMAN!!!

Peace Be Still

Good morning family and friends,
Start the week expecting prayers to be answered. Never give up on God because He will never give up on you! Meditate/pray every morning and always give thanks in the midst of your storm. He knows what you are going through and all He requires from you is trust. The storm will rage and when He knows you are ready to receive the blessing, He will whisper “Peace be still.” Have a blessed week!

His Merices Are New EVERY Morning

RSWY CEO Gwen OwensFor some time I’ve had health challenges and they began to weigh heavily on my heart and my spirit was broken. However, God brought to the forefront of my mind the miracles He has performed in my life.

After educating children and adults for 14 years, I was told at the end of the 2011-2012 school year “you’re not a good fit.” I knew that statement had nothing to do with my job performance but it have EVERYTHING to do with being on sick leave for 4 months. I struggled with that but I remembered that if God touched my body and made me whole after being placed in a coma, on a respirator, having physical therapy to learn how to walk again then there is NOTHING too hard for Him. Every heartache, disappointment, rejection and illness gave me purpose-to tell the world of His goodness and mercy.

I am no different from you; I have my days. However, one thing I am certain of is God’s love for me and He promised that He would NEVER leave nor forsake me. Sometimes I shed tears and even in my weakness I question the direction he is taking me. But, at the end of the day, I understand my purpose.

Don’t give up on God because He knows and cares about your situation. It’s only temporary. As long as God exist there is hope.

From the heart…
Gwendolyn
